The mighty Iguazu Falls straddle the border of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay and since 1986, have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
One of the most awe-inspiring and stunning wonders of the natural world; a trip to Iguazu Falls is a wonderful inclusion in any holiday to South America. Made up of 275 separate falls and surrounded by lush vegetation, the rich sub-tropical forest is home to a vast array of wildlife including tropical birds, butterflies, monkeys and coatamundis.
A series of pathways running through the national park allow for exceptional views from a number of vantage points. The infamous Devil's Throat, where the largest proportion of water plummets down 90m into a U-Shaped chasm, is best enjoyed from the boardwalk out over the edge!
For those feeling adventurous on their Iguazu Falls tour, you can take a thrilling speedboat ride up the Iguazu River, close to some of the lesser falls or enjoy a stunning panoramic helicopter flight over the Falls.
The region around the Iguazu Falls is also home to Jesuit Missions and the impressive Itaipu Dam, and lush tropical forest with vivid flora and fauna which can be explored from a nearby nature lodge.
