This holiday is perfect for those who want to experience some of Brazil's magnificent highlights at a relaxing pace. The trip incorporates the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro and the magnificent Iguaçu Falls. In Rio, see world renowned sights such as Sugarloaf Mountain and Corcovado. Wander along beautiful Copacabana Beach or unwind by the hotel pool taking in the superb sunsets. Next take a short flight to the Iguaçu Falls and stay at the iconic, colonial style Belmond Das Cataratas, ideally located within the Brazilian side of the national park. Walk from the hotel to the falls and explore at your own pace early in the morning or in the evening when the park is closed. Witness the huge volume of cascading water as it pummels against the basalt rock, generating a permanent cloud of mist which helps to create blazing rainbows. End your trip with a stay at the wonderful Casas Brancas in Buzios, the perfect relaxing ending to a holiday in Brazil.

Itinerary

Depart the UK today for your chosen flight to Rio de Janeiro. Upon arrival, you are met by a local driver and taken to your hotel on the seafront, at the Iconic Copacabana beach.
Today you are taken to visit Sugar Loaf Mountain known the world over as Rio's iconic postcard image. Sugar Loaf Mountain is reached on a two-stage cable car ride which takes 80 people per trip on a 2-minute ride per stage. The first stage, Morro da Urca - barely 170 metres high, has a restaurant, amphitheatre, a helipoint and a privileged view of the Yacht Club and Botafogo Bay. The second stage takes one up to the Sugar Loaf - thus named because of the loaves of sugar that were commonly used by the Portuguese at the time of the discovery of the city. The all-encompassing view of this privileged 270-metre-high lookout is unrivalled.
Today visit one of Rio de Janeiro's most famous sites - Corcovado Mountain. Ascend up to this viewpoint for spectacular panoramic views over the city. Aboard the Swiss cogwheel train, climb from 15m to 670m up through the thick vegetation that is Tijuca National Park. The very top is reached by climbing a flight of stairs reaching the base of the Christ the Redeemer statue. Covered in a mosaic of soapstone, it is one of Rio’s finest Art Nouveau monuments. The views with the surrounding forest spreading below and exceptional views out over Guanabara Bay are spinetingling.
Transfer to the airport for the short flight to the Iguaçu falls, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. The colonial style Das Cataratas hotel is ideally located within the Brazilian side of the national park and is surrounded by lovely gardens. You can easily walk from the hotel to the falls and explore at your own pace early in the morning or in the evening when the park is closed.
Today on a private excursion, cross the border to Argentina to experience the falls from the other side! Connected by a series of walkways there are many different vantage points to get a real feel for the falls. Feel the mist and watch rainbows form, spot butterflies and tropical birds as you meander along the paths until you reach the Devil's Throat. In the afternoon, return back to the Brazilian side.
Fly back to Rio today and then transfer by road to the chic beach resort of Buzios (approx. 2.5 hours by car). Once a simple fishing village back in the 60s, it is now one of Brazil's most upscale beach towns. A peninsula with no less than 17 beautiful beaches, the town itself is full of boutiques, restaurants, villas and luxurious pousadas. Its picturesque waterfront has earned it the nickname of "Brazil's St. Tropez".
You have the next two days at leisure to enjoy the pool area and beachfront, as well as explore other nearby beaches, that can be accessed by small local water taxis from the dock at Buzios.
Return to Rio today to take your chosen overnight international flight back to the UK.
