Mahé, the largest island in Seychelles and home to the capital, Victoria, is where most journeys through the archipelago begin. Along the coastline, powder-soft beaches range from the wild surf of Anse Intendance in the south to the calm, sun-drenched shores of Beau Vallon in the northwest.
Just offshore, the Sainte Anne Marine National Park protects a dazzling underwater world of coral reefs, tropical fish and turquoise lagoons spread across six small islands, including Sainte Anne and Cerf Island. Snorkelling, diving and sailing excursions reveal another side to Mahé — one defined by warm Indian Ocean waters and secluded island escapes.
