The Northern Guanacaste region is one of Costa Rica’s most fascinating places to explore. With four volcanoes including Rincon de la Vieja, from which the park takes its name, Orosi, Santa Maria and Miravalles within close proximity to each other, this region is surrounded by dense lush forest and is home to a huge variety of wildlife and insect species.

The best way to explore the area is via a canopy tour of the forests. Offering some of the best views of the national parks below, these tours give you a glimpse into Costa Rica’s spectacular natural beauty, although the more daring can also try white water tubing. To unwind you can take a relaxing dip in the therapeutic sulphur hot springs in the region.
