This exceptional safari combines all four of the northern parks of Tanzania - Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire with the flexibility of your own private guide and vehicle. On this drive-in safari, you travel overland and have the opportunity to appreciate the vastness and diversity of the landscapes. Typically, you depart from Arusha with your private guide and four-wheel drive vehicle. This method of travel allows for flexibility in your daily planning. You finish with time to explore Stone Town and then relax beside the Indian Ocean for five nights, staying in a traditional beach-side cottage on the Zanzibarian coast

Itinerary

Depart from London Heathrow on overnight flight to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania via Nairobi.
On arrival into Kilimanjaro this morning you will be met by your private guide and vehicle, who will be with you for the duration of your safari. Depart for your hotel the Rivertrees Lodge for the night with breakfast included.
Depart this morning by road to Tarangire National Park for your first game drive with picnic lunch. Tarangire is only about 2 hours from Kilimanjaro Airport, well known for its large herds of elephants and baobab trees. Day ends at Maramboi Tented Camp for a 1 night stay with all meals included.
This morning you may opt to do a final game drive before departing for Lake Manyara National Park, a small park famed for its tree climbing lions and abundance of birdlife which is attracted to this shallow, alkaline lake Day ends at Ngorongoro Farm House which is on the outer rim of the Ngorongoro Crater for a 2 night stay with all meals included.
Anticipation mounts as you wait at the entrance to the Ngorongoro Crater pre dawn to catch the sunrise whilst making the spectacular descent onto the Crater floor. Spend the day game driving around this basin before returning late afternoon to Plantation Lodge for dinner.
Journey to the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park, with an optional stop at Olduvai Gorge, an important prehistoric site to hear and see some of the exciting findings of the area. Afternoon drive in the Serengeti brings you to Chaka Camp for a 2 night stay, all meals
Today we suggest you take a packed lunch and spend the full day game driving around the Serengeti. The vehicle is at your disposal and you could opt for morning and afternoon drives with some time in camp just to sit back and take in the surrounds.
Bid a sad farewell to your safari guide and board a light aircraft flight to Zanzibar. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Zanzibar Palace Hotel in the heart of Stone Town for a 1 night stay in a suite, breakfast included.
This morning you will be collected early morning for a guided walking tour of Stone Town exploring the cobbled narrow streets of this historical capital. Transfer by road to the far north of the island for a 5 night stay at Matemwe Beach Village in a Kijiji Room with breakfast and dinner included.
Across from the Mnemba atoll, Matemwe offers excellent diving and snorkelling opportunities. This low key resort is the perfect spot for relaxation, hiring a bike or enjoying a simple board game.
Afternoon transfer by road to Zanzibar Airport for return overnight flight to London via Nairobi.
