Matemo Island in the heart of the Quirimbas Archipelago is only 8 kilometres long and 3 kilometres wide, taking about 20 minutes to reach by light aircraft from Pemba. Depart on late evening flight from London Heathrow to Johannesburg.
On arrival early morning and check for onward regional flight to Northern Mozambique. Arriving early afternoon you will be met and transferred by light aircraft to Matemo Island for a 9 night stay with all meals, all local drinks, non motorised activities/equipment, marine reserve fee and laundry included.
The twenty thatched chalets are only metres from the ocean, with a veranda and hammock, en-suite bathroom and outdoor shower. The main area has a lovely bar, swimming pool and excellent cuisine incorporating fresh seafood into the daily menu.
