Cerrado Savannah
The Brazilian Cerrado is one of the most biodiverse savanna regions in the world. This area is in Brazil's second largest biome and is a wildlife rich zone which is said to have over 1,000 different species of vertebrate animals and more than 13,000 floral species. Accessed by road from the city of Brasília in around five hours, it's a place where the traditional dry season is from April to October, with very few rainy days and temperatures typically up around 30°C during the day. The region is home to a variety of endangered species, including jaguars, ocelot, giant armadillo, anteater, grey eagle and one of the main attractions, the maned wolf. The Cerrado's clear skies make this a great destination for stargazing, while the Grande Sertao Veredas National Park can be explored on foot, via 4×4 vehicles or by bike on trails around the park.
Brasília
Brasília, Brazil’s purpose-built capital, offers you a striking look at modernist design shaped by Oscar Niemeyer and Lúcio Costa. Its sweeping avenues, bold public buildings and spacious layout give you a clear sense of how this visionary city came to life.
