Encounter iconic wildlife species and enjoy the gentle pace of the Indian Ocean coast on this ten-night exploration of Kenya by road and rail.
You begin on the sweeping plains of Amboseli, with Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, rising dramatically in the distance. Here, the possibility of meeting the rare ‘big tusker’ elephants makes for truly memorable moments in the wild. Early morning game drives and quiet evenings in a carefully selected lodge allow you to take in the whole spectacle of the landscape and its wildlife.
Next, you’ll travel to Tsavo National Park, Kenya’s largest and oldest park. The camp is ideally located for you to explore the park’s varied habitats, from open savannahs to riverine forests, home to lions, elephants and abundant birdlife. Across the following few days, enjoy guided drives with knowledgeable resident guides who share insights into the park’s ecosystems and the animals that call it home. Evenings also provide the chance to relax in comfort under wide African skies.
The journey then takes on a different pace as you board the scenic Madaraka Express to Mombasa, travelling through rolling landscapes and small towns. Arriving at the Kenya Coast, you can unwind on palm-fringed beaches, explore the resident culture or set out to snorkel vibrant coral reefs. This combination of safari and coast allows you to enjoy both Kenya’s wild heart and its serene shores.
Whether spotting legendary creatures or simply relaxing by the ocean, you’ll return home with a rich sense of Kenya’s natural beauty and diversity.
