Finch Hattons Luxury Camp sits on 35 acres of spring-fed wilderness in the heart of Tsavo National Park, Kenya. With just 17 luxury tented suites, each offering private decks that look out over hippo-populated natural springs, it provides you with space, comfort and a profound sense of tranquillity.
Inside your tent, you’ll find thoughtfully appointed décor, indoor and outdoor showers, a freestanding copper bathtub and a well-stocked in-room bar. A stay here is ideal if you’re after indulgence, privacy and time to soak up the wild surroundings in style.
Beyond your suite, there’s a full spa and wellness centre, an infinity pool, yoga decking and a serene lounge area, which is perfect for unwinding between safari outings. Whether you’re travelling as a couple, with family or friends, Finch Hattons balances refined comfort with wild beauty.
Accommodation
There are 17 thatched, luxury-tented suites, each raised above the ground with wide views across the spring-fed pools. The 14 Luxury Tented Suites are designed for two adults, offering a king-size bed, a calm lounge area and an easy flow between indoor and outdoor living. The two Family Suites provide two bedrooms, plenty of space to settle in together and an extended deck for quiet wildlife watching. For added privacy, why not opt for the Finch Hattons Suite? It provides its own heated pool and generous deck, along with dedicated staff to look after you throughout your stay.
Dining
In the Main Restaurant, savour an expertly prepared menu crafted with ingredients from the camp’s organic herb and vegetable garden, dining indoors or al fresco on the terrace beneath the stars.
Karen Blixen Lounge is a stylish spot for cocktails and light refreshments, perfect for unwinding before or after your safari. There’s also a Cigar Lounge with a fine selection to choose from. Additionally, you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks at one of the Bars and Lounges at the camp.
Activities
Finch Hattons offers dawn and dusk game drives through Tsavo West, where expert guides take you to see elephants, giraffes, buffalo and hippos against the park’s dramatic landscapes. You can also explore the nearby Chyulu Hills on guided nature walks or hikes, from volcanic plains to the Shetani Lava Flow, with Mount Kilimanjaro on the horizon. Back at camp, relax by the large swimming pool, enjoy treatments in the Chyulu Spa or stretch out on the open yoga deck. As night falls, the stargazing deck is a quiet spot to take in the African sky, completing your connection with the wild.
