Almanara Luxury Resort gives you a quiet base on the white sands of Diani Beach, Kenya. It’s a small, stylish retreat with a relaxed, unhurried feel; it’s well-suited if you’re looking for space, privacy and time by the ocean. Set just south of Mombasa, the resort sits between the Indian Ocean and the forests that lead towards Shimba Hills, so you’re surrounded by coastal views and deep green landscapes.
You can choose from fully serviced Garden Villas, the boutique hotel’s five elegant bedrooms or the new beachfront Residence Villas. Each villa comes with a chef and maid, giving you the freedom to settle in and enjoy a coastal stay shaped entirely around you. With its palm-lined grounds, soft, quiet atmosphere and easy access to one of Africa’s most striking beaches, Almanara is an inviting option for couples, families or anyone wanting a peaceful break with thoughtful, attentive care throughout.
Accommodation
There are just five rooms: three Ocean View Rooms and two Suites. The Ocean View Rooms sit close to the beach, each with a king-size bed, a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite shower. Light tones and a private veranda or balcony create an easy, coastal atmosphere. The two Suites offer more space, with larger verandas facing the palms, a king-size bed and an ensuite with both a bath and a shower.
If you’re travelling as a family, the Garden and Residence Villas give you generous living space and private terraces, along with the calm, relaxed setting that defines this part of Diani Beach.
Dining
The hotel’s premier beachfront dining spot, Sails, serves seafood-focused cuisine in an open, airy steel-and-canvas structure with uninterrupted views of Diani Beach. Head Chef Anthony Huth crafts specials using fresh ingredients, while daily dining includes full board and a selection of drinks.

You can relax on Diani’s white sands and enjoy a range of optional activities. Swim in the heated infinity pool or explore the Indian Ocean with watersports and snorkelling trips by boat. A highlight is the Robinson Sand Island trip: a pristine sandbank that can be reached by glass-bottom boat, Ngalawa dhow or the hotel’s Princess Layla, complete with snorkelling gear and refreshments.
Daily flights from Ukunda take you to iconic reserves including Amboseli, Tsavo and the Masai Mara, where private safaris and guided walking tours offer you memorable encounters with Africa’s wildlife.
