Itinerary
Day 1 | Fly UK to Botswana
Day 2-4 | Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge, Chobe National Park
On your arrival today, you will travel by light aircraft from Maun to the breathtaking Chobe National Park, where Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge is situated. This dynamic wilderness offers a sweeping expanse of savannah, rocky outcrops, and is surrounded by a marsh. Chobe National Park is the elephant capital of the world, and the lodge is perched on the banks of the Savute Channel, where you can enjoy a birds-eye view of their natural habitat.
On your second day, rise early for the first of your three safari drives. You may encounter lions, wild dogs, leopards, and hyenas, as well as rarer species such as roan and sable antelope. Savute is a great area for bird lovers, with over 250 species, most of which are native to the area. Throughout the day, there are other activities on offer, such as a visit to see the San Rock Paintings. You will enjoy a second safari drive. Sundowners are often served under the Baobab Trees before dinner, often al fresco under a sky full of stars.
On the final day, you can enjoy some leisure time at Savute Elephant Lodge.
Day 5-7 | Belmond Eagle Island Lodge, Okavango Delta
Transfer by light aircraft from Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge to the luxurious Belmond Eagle Island Lodge, where you'll spend the next three nights. This spectacular lodge is nestled in the lush Okavango Delta, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest inland water systems in the world. The lodge's locations lends itself well for water-based wildlife experiences, such as motor boat safaris or exploring the waterways by mokoro, traditional dugout canoes. Watch the sunset from the Fish Eagle bar set right on the water's edge, or enjoy conversation under the stars by the open fire pit.
Your second day gives you the opportunity to enjoy two safari experiences. If you really want to spoil yourself, then take to the skies and have a unique safari by helicopter, a truly memorable experience of watching wildlife from the air. Your day can be spent lazing on your deck or in your private rim-flow plunge pool while looking out at the expanse in front of you.
The final day in the world-famous Okavango Delta can be spent exploring the waterways in search of its incredible wildlife.
