Tarangire Treetops lies outside the park, in a private conservation area.
The lodge provides imaginative luxury accommodation in 20 treehouses built around the trunks of large baobab and marula trees.
There is a sense of magic as you ascend a small wooden staircase, through the hatch and onto your tented platform. The bespoke canvas tree-pavilions house a surprisingly elaborate bathroom, a pitched roof adapted to the shape of the tree and 180° views through large gauze windows into the tree canopy and onto your private balcony.
The dining room and lounge overlook the pool and a waterhole with steady wildlife activity. Walking safaris, day and night game viewing compete with gourmet bush meals and stylish sundowner events.
