Upgrade your Classic Churchill Polar Bear Adventure to include a stay at Tundra Buggy Lodge in the heart of Churchill Wildlife Management Area—a prime position for polar bear sightings.
There’s nothing like watching a polar bear amble across a frozen expanse, the crisp northern air brushing your face. On this eight-day adventure, combine extraordinary encounters with an authentic introduction to Canada’s subarctic in Churchill, the ‘polar bear capital of the world’.
Begin in Toronto, a city alive with culture and energy, exploring at your leisure or taking a day trip to the thundering Niagara Falls. Then travel west to Winnipeg for an overnight stay before flying north to Churchill. From here, local experts guide you through Churchill’s most fascinating sites, including the Polar Bear Holding Facility and stone Inukshuk. Enjoy a presentation by an indigenous resident to understand what life’s like in this remote region, gaining insight into the wildlife, culture and history.
The highlight of your trip comes during three full days experiencing a Tundra Buggy® adventure. Specially designed for comfort and safety while you traverse the Churchill Wildlife Management Area, the vehicles allow you to search for polar bears, arctic foxes and other subarctic wildlife. Not only that, though, but since you’re staying at Tundra Buggy Lodge throughout your visit, you have great opportunities of seeing Arctic wildlife every step of the way. You could be relaxing in the comfort of your cosy bunkbed when, all of a sudden, you spot a polar bear moments away from your window. Or, when you’re enjoying some fine dining, you may potentially glimpse a sighting of one of the “Lords of the Arctic” from your panoramic view – something you’re sure to always remember.
After flying back to Winnipeg, you’re left with memories of a truly remarkable northern journey.
