Upgrade your Classic Churchill Polar Bear Adventure to include a stay at Tundra Buggy Lodge in the heart of Churchill Wildlife Management Area—a prime position for polar bear sightings.

There’s nothing like watching a polar bear amble across a frozen expanse, the crisp northern air brushing your face. On this eight-day adventure, combine extraordinary encounters with an authentic introduction to Canada’s subarctic in Churchill, the ‘polar bear capital of the world’.

Begin in Toronto, a city alive with culture and energy, exploring at your leisure or taking a day trip to the thundering Niagara Falls. Then travel west to Winnipeg for an overnight stay before flying north to Churchill. From here, local experts guide you through Churchill’s most fascinating sites, including the Polar Bear Holding Facility and stone Inukshuk. Enjoy a presentation by an indigenous resident to understand what life’s like in this remote region, gaining insight into the wildlife, culture and history.

The highlight of your trip comes during three full days experiencing a Tundra Buggy® adventure. Specially designed for comfort and safety while you traverse the Churchill Wildlife Management Area, the vehicles allow you to search for polar bears, arctic foxes and other subarctic wildlife. Not only that, though, but since you’re staying at Tundra Buggy Lodge throughout your visit, you have great opportunities of seeing Arctic wildlife every step of the way. You could be relaxing in the comfort of your cosy bunkbed when, all of a sudden, you spot a polar bear moments away from your window. Or, when you’re enjoying some fine dining, you may potentially glimpse a sighting of one of the “Lords of the Arctic” from your panoramic view – something you’re sure to always remember.

After flying back to Winnipeg, you’re left with memories of a truly remarkable northern journey.

Itinerary

Fly from the UK to Toronto, Canada. On arrival, transfer to Le Germain Maple Leaf, where you’ll enjoy a comfortable overnight stay with continental breakfast included.
Toronto
Today is yours to enjoy in the country’s largest city. Toronto offers plenty to explore, from the waterfront promenade to the striking CN Tower, where panoramic views stretch for miles. You may also want to wander through the neighbourhoods, each with its own character. If you prefer, you could always take an optional full-day trip to Niagara Falls. Here, you’ll feel the roar of the water and watch the mist rise from the thundering cascades. Overnight at Le Germain Maple Leaf.
Winnipeg
Fly west to Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba. On arrival, check in to your airport hotel, ideally located to make tomorrow’s departure smooth and stress-free. Overnight in Winnipeg.
Churchill

Head north on your flight to Churchill, a remote frontier town where the subarctic wilderness begins. The next four days of your adventure will play out here. Settle in with a guided bus tour, visiting key landmarks such as the stone Inukshuk and the Polar Bear Holding Facility. Later, a local indigenous resident will share stories of culture, history and life in this extraordinary environment.

For the last three days, immerse yourself in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area on full-day Tundra Buggy® excursions. From your innovative, silent, zero-emission propulsion wildlife viewing vehicle, watch for polar bears roaming the ice, arctic foxes darting across the snow and other subarctic animals blending into the tundra. Nights are spent at the warm and cosy Tundra Buggy Lodge, where polar bears often wander close by – providing you with spectacular moments from the comfort of your lodge window. On the last day, return by evening flight to Winnipeg.

Depart from Winnipeg to Toronto and fly back to the UK. Reflect on your adventure, with memories of Canada’s subarctic wilderness that stay with you long after your return home.
