Costa Rica is a country of great natural beauty and every highlight has something unique to offer. Whether you are watching the Arenal volcano whilst bathing in hot springs, walking in the canopy of Montverde’s cloud forest or relaxing on one of the many beautiful beaches that adorn its coastline, Costa Rica really is a nature lover’s paradise.

UK - San Jose
Fly direct to San Jose with British Airways. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel, the Crowne Plaza Corobici for the next two nights.

San Jose & the Central Valley
Today on a private tour, head out into the Central Valley. At Doka Coffee Plantation, learn about Costa Rica's coffee production and sample the different blends. For a close up volcano experience, visit Poas Volcano National Park with its hauntingly blue crater lake before a stop at the refreshing and powerful La Paz waterfall. Surrounded by lush tropical forest, listen to the sounds of nature as you walk along the winding nature trails. There is also a butterfly and hummingbird garden as well as orchid garden.

San Jose - Tortuguero
Head to Tortuguero National Park, on the Caribbean coast, for 2 nights, exploring the many channels and wildlife habitats that exist here. In season you can see turtles laying their eggs on the beach and later in the year the baby turtles hatching. Stay at the Evergreen Lodge in the heart of the national park. This vast area offers exceptional wildlife spotting opportunities, discover tropical rainforest, mangroves, wetlands and coastline.

Tortuguero National Park
Full day exploring the Tortuguero waterways by boat with your local guide. All excursions are included with your stay at the lodge. The canal of jungle-finged waterways behind the beach are teeming with bird and insect life. At sunrise the rainforest comes alive with wildlife including birds (over half of the species found in Costa Rica), monkeys, sloths and for the lucky alligators, tapirs, ocelots, peccaries and anteaters.

Tortuguero - Arenal
Transfer to the Arenal region for a 2-night stay. The area of Arenal is surrounded by volcanic hot springs. Upon arrival, check in your hotel, Mountain Paradise and then relax in nearby hot springs.

Arenal (Caño Negro)
Today visit Caño Negro, considered one of the most important wetlands in Central America. Located close to the Nicaraguan border, board a boat down the Rio Frio for some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in the country. Look out for caiman, sloths, monkey and turtles as well as many birds along the river banks, from glossy ibis, stilts, anhinga, wood stork and roseate spoonbills.

Arenal - Monteverde
Transfer by road and boat to the Monteverde Cloudforest region. As you cross Arenal Lake by boat, take in panoramic views of the surrounds. The lake is the largest and the most important lake in Costa Rica and was man made in 1974 to provide hydroelectric energy for the country. Stay 2 nights in the magical cloudforest area of Monteverde. In the evening, watch how the jungle comes alive under the cover of darkness. Accompanied by a guide and a torch, look out for brightly coloured frogs, spiders, snakes, sloths and bats.

Monteverde
Today visit the Selvatura Walkways and obtain a bird's eye view of the jungle as you traverse the canopy via a network of suspended bridges. The reserve is mainly primary cloudforest and is shrouded in mist for most of the year. The area is home to more than 400 species of bird, including the famous resplendant quetzal which is best seen in the dry months of January to May. Spot hummingbirds and iridescent morphos butterlies at the butterfly garden.

Monteverde - Manuel Antonio National Park
From the coolness of the cloud forest, head to the steamier Pacific. Spend 3 nights at the Si Como No, close to the Manuel Antonio National Park. Spend your days exploring the park, relaxing on the beach or by the pool.

Manuel Antonio National Park
Free days to relax and to explore the beautiful beaches of Manuel Antonio National Park. As one of Costa Rica's most protected areas the 683 hectares of mangrove swamps and beaches are home to a rich variety of flora and fauna. Within the park there is also good hiking for viewing a host of wildlife. Aside from the park other options include sea kayaking, mountain biking, canopy tours, scuba diving and deep sea fishing.

Private transfer, approximately 3 hours, from the coast to San Jose airport for your return flight.
