Nestled in the verdant hills above the Caribbean coast of southern Belize, Copal Tree Lodge (formerly Belcampo Lodge) is a self-contained sanctuary from the everyday world.

Bordered by the winding Rio Grande River, the lodge sits within a 12,000 acre nature reserve. Accommodation consists of 16 individual suites with comfortable sleeping and relaxing spaces, screened fresh-air verandas, and luxurious spa-style baths. The hilltop main lodge is the communal heart of the resort with wraparound balcony, dining and lounge areas, rum and coffee bars, an inviting swimming pool and observation decks open to stunning vistas of the coast, Mayan Mountains and seemingly endless pristine rainforest.

There are several hiking trails throughout the property, including the chocolate trail; through their cocao plantation, the Sugar Cane run; through the nearby sugar cane plantation and many that overflow with flora and fauna. Spot birds, mammals, reptiles, various medicinal and edible plants along the way.

The restaurant serves delicious homemade dishes using seasonal produce and 70% of which the food comes from thier large organic gardens.

Stays at Copal Tree Lodge include a number of excursions as well as optional excursions that can be booked locally.
