Spend a half day exploring the city of Salta, founded in 1582. This cosmopolitan spot in north west Argentina displays a wealth of colonial architecture. Around the leafy main plaza, 18th & 19th century buildings line the streets. Our tour takes in the main highlights of the city, such as the excellent MAAM (entrance fee payable locally), a museum built to house the mummified remains of three sacrificed Inca children found on a nearby mountain top.
