Experience Highlights

  • Duration: Half day
  • Type: Group Experience

You will be picked up at the hotel at your preferred time (although we recommend 10am after the early rush hour has calmed down). Our expert, friendly guide will take you to the centre of Buenos Aires, past the emblematic Obelisk and into the Plaza de Mayo, home to so many revolutions and protests over the years, and now serenely flanked by the cathedral and the Pink House - yes, the government building really is bright pink! Having explored the plaza, you continue on foot on by car (in summer you may prefer the air con) down through the colonial neighbourhood of San Telmo.  If it is a Sunday there will be a lively market filling the streets with bric-a-brac stalls and tango dancers.

After an optional drink stop in Plaza Dorrego, our guide takes you to la Boca, a colourful neighbourhood that remains a must-see. There is time for lunch (not included) at an Argentine steakhouse overlooking the docks in Puerto Madero, before you cut back north to the Recoleta cemetery where you learn about the cemetery and the glamorous Recoleta area.  There should be time to try the world famous dulce de leche ice cream at Freddo's, before ending the tour with a transfer back to the hotel. Or, if you like, we can leave you in Recoleta to walk through the extensive parks, or check out one of the numerous local museums.
