Established in 1954, Paraa Safari Lodge is the oldest accommodation in Murchison Falls National Park and overlooks the Nile River. It offers comfortable rooms, a swimming pool with sun loungers and parasols, and is well located for game drives. This includes night drives, conducted by the Uganda Wildlife Authority.
All rooms have balcony and en-suite bathroom (toiletries and towels provided), mosquito nets and air conditioning as well as a fan. The lodge's décor reflects the bygone era of early explorers - some do comment that it's dated. The swimming pool overlooks the winding Nile River, which was also the setting for the classic Hollywood film, The African Queen (1951).
There's complementary Wi-Fi and the restaurant serves buffet meals. There's a spa/wellness centre and communal lounge area, a sun terrace, fireplace, BBQ facilities and a 24-hour reception and security desk. The welcoming and attentive staff receive good feedback.
