This is a real wildlife lovers’ tour – you will spend your time exploring two of India’s best wildlife reserves, observing animals in their natural habitats and marvelling at the wonderfully diverse flora.

From bustling Mumbai you will transfer to Pench National Park, the original setting that inspired ‘The Jungle Book’. From there, journey on to Satpura National Park, which is one of India’s lesser-known reserves. Both locations are full of wildlife and you’ll explore on game and safari drives accompanied by expert guides. Tigers, leopards, wolves, porcupines, antelopes, bears and hyenas are just a few of the mammals you could spot on this extensive wildlife holiday.

Itinerary

Board your overnight flight from the UK to Mumbai.
Check in to the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai for a one night stay. Get your bearings with an introductory tour of the city.
This morning board your flight to Nagpur, on the way to Pench National Park. During your time exploring Pench, you will be staying at the Jamtara Wilderness Camp. Jamtara is made up of ten luxury tents, making for an intimate atmosphere and guaranteeing personalised service. The park is on the camp’s doorstep, so you’ll have unrivalled access to the wildlife treasures that lie within.
The park was the setting that inspired Rudyard Kipling to write ‘The Jungle Book’, and is just as enchanting today. For the next three days you’ll enjoy morning and evening safari drives, taking you right through the park and increasing your chances of seeing the resident animals, such as Gaur (bison), Wild dogs, deer, leopards, tigers and wolves.
The park is home to over 280 different species of bird, and is one of the best areas for birdwatching in India. Here you could spot the Grey-headed fishing eagle, the Brahminy duck and several species of endangered vultures.
The park is full of a huge variety of flora, with plant life ranging from tall, woody trees to brightly coloured flowers. On your travels around the park you might also be lucky enough to spot some of the 45 types of butterfly, 54 kinds of moth or 50 species of fish that call this area home.
Today you will drive to Satpura National Park, one of India’s lesser-known nature reserves. You’ll spend the next four days of your holiday exploring the park, which is spread over more than 520 square kilometres. Your accommodation for your stay in this area will be the Reni Pani Jungle Lodge, comprised of 12 luxury cottages of three separate designs.
Enjoy a safari experience like no other at Satpura. Not as well-known as India’s other parks, Satpura has a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. You won’t find a queue of safari vehicles here, and the less crowded park makes for a more authentic wildlife experience. Today enjoy morning and evening game drives to make the most of Satpura.
Today take part in morning and evening safari drives to search for sightings of Satpura’s resident wildlife. Rich in variety, you’re in with a chance to see a huge number of animals during your time here, such as Jungle cats, Indian flying foxes, leopards, jackals, deer and even the elusive tigers!
Satpura is also home to a rich biodiversity of birdlife, and the peaceful atmosphere around the park makes it easy to hear birdsong high among the park’s trees. Here you can find many kinds of buzzards, storks, ducks, eagles and herons. Keep your camera to hand as you enjoy your morning and evening game drives.
This morning enjoy another morning drive through Satpura National Park before making your way by road to Bhopal, where you will catch a flight to Mumbai.
This morning board your return flight back to the UK.
