A must see whilst in Namibia are the expansive, ever moving sand dunes. We suggest being guided on this excursion because you’ll need to know where to be when in order to see the dunes at their best. You will leave your lodge just before sunrise as you make your way to the gate. As the sun starts to come up you will see the colours start to change. At this time in the morning, the temperature is still mild. Try your hand at climbing up one of the towering dunes to take some breathtaking photographs of the expanse below.
There is some wildlife in this area so keep an eye out for smaller desert animals as journey along. You can then stop for a picnic lunch under a shady tree before continuing on to Deadvlei. This iconic area is where you see the red dunes contrasting against the white ground (limestone) and dead trees that are still standing. This excursion is a full day and is not private.
