Depart after breakfast from the hotel with your guide and driver to the car park, from where most guests embark on a 3km hike to the very popular and scenically attractive Piscine Naturelle.
This trail begins with a relatively steep (grading: moderate) 80m gain in elevation but after that, terrain is flat. Pack strong sunblock for the intense tropical sun. Another walk is the Namazaha trail, which takes about 45 minutes and follows a stream to Cascade des Nymphes. Here, you can enjoy a dip in cool, deep water.
This area is especially good for Ringtail and Red-fronted brown lemurs. For those staying longer than two nights and who are keen to explore more of the park, Isalo has many other circuits varying in grading. Popular circuits include visits to Canyon des Rats and Canyon des Makis.
