Opened in mid-2023, the Porini Ol Kinyei Safari Cottages have a gorgeous hillside location with splendid views over the plains of Ol Kinyei Conservancy. The cottages are designed to maximise these views and affording closeness to nature but without compromising on comfort or functionality.

A small lake down at the base of the hill is attracts plenty of wildlife, including lion and elephant. Other large mammals you may see in the distance while at the cottages (more likely by binoculars as the lodge is situated high above the plains) are plains zebra, Cape buffalo, spotted hyena, blue wildebeest, and warthog. As is the case throughout the area, birdlife is spectacular.

  • The cottages have four en-suite bedrooms - two double and 2 twin bedrooms
  • Each unit has a dining room, lounge and bar area, and a media room.
• The property has a communal dining/lounge/bar with a fireplace for the cold evenings.
• Solar-powered lighting is utilsed.

  • There is a backup generator working off solar power.
• Rooms are equipped with fans.
• Plumbed showers 
• Hot water bottles are placed inside beds.

Activities

• Shared game drives: six guests maximum per vehicle; window seats.
• Nocturnal game drives are offered.
• Guided bush walks are one-and-a-half to two hours in duration.
• Picnic breakfasts (no cooked eggs).
• Bush lunch/dinner/BBQ meals are offered
• Maasai Village visits can be done (extra charge).
