Zaina Lodge is the most comfortable accommodation option within Mole National Park and offers a relaxing base for travellers exploring northern Ghana.

The lodge’s tented rooms are positioned along an escarpment overlooking the surrounding savannah and are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, en suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, and private decks with expansive views.

The main lodge area includes an infinity pool, restaurant and bar overlooking nearby waterholes, where elephants are sometimes seen, particularly during the dry season. The atmosphere is peaceful and remote, making it an enjoyable place to unwind after long journeys through northern Ghana.

Accommodation is offered on a full-board basis, with a mixture of local and international dishes served in the open-air restaurant.

Activities include guided drives and walks within Mole National Park, usually accompanied by park rangers. Wildlife sightings typically focus on elephants, several antelope species, baboons and birdlife, rather than a wide diversity of large mammals. Mole is particularly rewarding for birdwatchers, with a number of sought-after Sahelian species occurring in the park and surrounding savannah habitats.

Visitors may also wish to visit nearby Larabanga, home to one of West Africa’s oldest and most distinctive mosques, as well as the village’s long-established cultural traditions.

Mole is best approached as part of a broader Ghana journey combining culture, history and nature, and Zaina Lodge provides a comfortable and atmospheric base from which to experience this remote part of the country.
