Rainforest Lodge remains the most comfortable and conveniently located accommodation option for visitors exploring Kakum National Park, situated around ten minutes’ drive from the park headquarters and canopy walkway entrance.
Set within spacious grounds, the property has a relaxed atmosphere and useful facilities including a swimming pool, small outdoor bar and complimentary WiFi in the main areas.
Accommodation is in chalet-style rooms and suites, all with air conditioning, en suite bathrooms, television, seating area and minibar. While the décor and furnishings are somewhat dated in places, the rooms are generally comfortable for a short stay in this part of Ghana, where accommodation options are limited.
The restaurant serves a mixture of Ghanaian and Chinese dishes, and there is a 24-hour reception. Massage treatments can also be arranged.
As with many hotels in more remote areas of West Africa, service can occasionally be variable and some aspects of the property would benefit from refurbishment and ongoing maintenance. However, its location close to Kakum National Park and the practicality of the facilities make it the strongest available base for visiting the area.
Guests with particular preferences for fresh coffee may wish to bring their own supply.
