Ankasa Lodge enjoys a superb setting on the banks of the Ankasa River, close to the entrance of the Ankasa Conservation Area — Ghana’s largest and most biologically diverse Upper Guinea rainforest. Surrounded by dense tropical forest, the lodge provides a comfortable and atmospheric base for exploring both Ankasa Reserve and neighbouring Nini-Suhien National Park.

The lodge offers a range of accommodation, from spacious riverfront executive chalets to simpler mid-range and budget rooms. We particularly recommend the riverfront chalets, which feature air conditioning, modern en suite bathrooms and private balconies overlooking the surrounding forest and river.

At the heart of the property is the open-air Bongo Bar and Restaurant, where guests can relax after a day of rainforest exploration. The kitchen serves a mix of local and international dishes prepared with fresh ingredients, while daily specials often include fresh fish, lobster and other seasonal seafood. A selection of wines, beers and spirits is available, alongside the lodge’s signature “Soboteshie” cocktail.

The peaceful natural setting makes Ankasa Lodge especially rewarding for birdwatchers, wildlife enthusiasts and travellers seeking a quieter side of Ghana. A recently completed swimming pool adds further comfort after a day in the rainforest.
