For over 30 years, Oceanwide has focused on one goal: getting you as close as possible to the polar regions. Rather than centring your experience on life aboard the ship, every voyage is designed to maximise the quality of your excursions ashore and out on the water. This gives you more opportunities to observe wildlife, more ways to explore the dramatic landscapes and more time to learn from the knowledgeable expedition guides. Plus, their shorter sea crossings between landing sites and a flexible approach ensure fewer moments spent sailing between each destination.

The fleet of ice-strengthened ships ranges from the classic expedition vessels Plancius and Ortelius, each carrying just 108 passengers, to the more contemporary Hondius, which connects a stronger focus on comfort with the same expedition-led approach. Whichever ship you choose, the atmosphere is relaxed, informal and focused on a shared enthusiasm for the natural world.

With small groups, knowledgeable expedition staff and plans for twice-daily shore landings whenever conditions allow, you’ll get to photograph large sea mammals, walk among penguin colonies, cruise past towering icebergs or pause to take in the scale and silence of the polar landscape. Some departures also include optional activities to spend even more time on the ice or in the water.

Oceanwide also supports scientific research and environmental education, as well as introducing a long-term reforestation project in the Brazilian Amazon as part of its wider environmental strategy. This is all while continuing to invest in lower-impact operations across its fleet.
