Lux* Grand Gaube is a five-star hotel on a secluded bay in the north-east corner of Mauritius, near the fishing village of Grand Gaube. There is easy access to Grand Baie, with its marina, cafés and shopping. The airport is about 1¼ hours away by road.

The hotel is designed on Feng Shui principles, enabling guests to experience the art of living in harmony with the environment. The five elements - water, wood, fire, earth and metal -and their corresponding colours are in harmony, providing 'a feast of colour and shape, of sound, of scent and taste for the five senses'. The décor is uncluttered, to allow the free movement of the chi, and sharp edges have been avoided wherever possible. The yin-yang theme is discreetly carried through into the linen and towels.

Accommodation

In the 126 superior rooms, the main element is metal enhanced by earth and water. Water is the main element in the 46 deluxe rooms, enhanced with wood and metal. In the 23 junior suites, wood is enhanced with water and fire. Two senior suites and a presidential villa, with all five elements, private pool and beach are also available.

All rooms have a sea-facing balcony or terrace, air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom with toilet, bath and separate shower, mini-bar, internet connection, satellite television and other amenities. Deluxe rooms are on a small private cove by the marina and also have a ceiling fan. Junior suites have a sitting area and jacuzzi bath.
