This expedition involves some walking over rugged landscape and reasonable fitness is suggested and helps in keeping up the safari pace of early rises and long rewarding days out.
You will stay in spacious tents, with comfortable beds, crisp linen, as well as bedside tables and lamps. Each tent has a private bathroom with flush toilet, hand basins and hot bucket shower. This mobile is fully serviced in exclusive campsite and is accompanied throughout by an expert safari guide in 4x4 vehicle with guaranteed window seat for maximum of 6 participants.
London - Maun
Depart from London Heathrow on overnight flight from the UK to Maun in Botswana via Johannesburg.
On arrival at Maun International Airport in Botswana, you will be met and taken to your light aircraft flight into the heart of the Okavango Delta for 2 nights camping in a private concession. Here your safari vehicle will be waiting at the airstrip to transfer you to the camp where you will spend your days exploring the waterways of the Delta by mekoro (dug-out canoe) or game-viewing walks on the islands.
Moremi Wildlife Reserve
Light aircraft into the Khwai area in the North Gate region of Moremi Wildlife Reserve for a 2 nights camping, your days will be spent game driving around this game rich area. Moremi was the first reserve in Africa to be protected by the local people.
Savute, Chobe National Park
Today will be a long game drive (5 – 6 hours) up into the Savute for 2 nights camping next to the dry Savute Channel. Renowned for lion and other predator viewing which are attracted to the artificial watering holes in the dry season.
Serondela, Chobe National Park
Travel up to the northern Chobe (4 – 5 hours overland game drive), for 2 nights camping in the Serondela area, close to the Chobe River. Large herds of elephant gather in this area and are best viewed from either a game drive or a boat cruise on the river.
A quick 1 ½ drive takes you to Victoria Falls, where you bid your guide farewell and spend 1 night at The Elephant Camp. You will be taken on a guided tour of the Falls from the Zimbabwe side, followed by a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River where you are bound to see pods of hippo and crocodiles lazing in the sun whilst sipping your G&T.
We highly recommend you extend your stay here to relax after your safari and there are many activities in the area from the sedate to Bungi jumping. Elephant Camp is the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary, and all guests have the opportunity to meet the elephants.
