Planning the perfect honeymoon is an important aspect of your wedding preparations, just as integral as finding an amazing venue. We think the classic combination of safari and beach offers a fantastic mix of quality time together with an edge of thrilling excitment to celebrate the start of your married life. Your days will be filled with intrepid adventure in one of Africa’s last untouched areas before heading over to the gorgeous Pemba Island and the idyllic Indian Ocean.
Retreat to Ruaha National Park, devoid of throngs of tourists, to enjoy the romantic isolated atmosphere feeling like the only two people in the world. One of Africa’s last genuine wildernesses, this park is alive with game and utterly awe inspiring views. A rugged and harsh landscape, sprawling within and along the Great Rift Valley, Ruaha epitomises the definition of wild Africa. Staying in one of Kigelia Ruaha’s six traditional safari tents, you will feel completely secluded with an exciting anticipation of the freedom to discover and explore the largest of Tanzania’s national parks. Your three night stay in this charming camp puts you in great proximity to explore the plethora of wildlife gems in one of East Africa's most diverse wild places. Take day and night game drives, escorted bush walks and bush picnics across the different habitats, from the rocky hills to the dense bush to the open grasslands.
After your last game drive, you will be whisked away by your light aircraft flight to the exotic and intoxicating Spice Island of Zanzibar. Walk through Stone Town's weaving network of cobbled alleyways on a guided tour with a night stay at Zanzibar Palace, before taking a quick flight over to the beautiful Pemba Island. Here you will stay in Fundu Lagoon, a luxury beach hideaway which offers natural barefoot chic in a quintessential East African setting.
A less visited island of the archipelago, Pemba remains largely undiscovered for an authentic castaway experience. Spend your days in this quiet oasis however you wish, exploring the Indian Ocean or discovering the delicious food and drinks on offer by the pool. The neighbouring coral reefs, the steep walls of the Pemba channel, supporting a large range of marine life, and a wealth of fish makes for the best diving in East Africa. The hotel’s infinity pool is a peaceful sanctuary offering panoramic views of the Indian Ocean just a couple steps away from the Fundu Fusion Spa, where you can indulge in massages using the ancient healing philosophies of African and Asian cultures. Your Hillside room will have fantastic views of the Indian Ocean, accompanied with a cooling night time breeze, all spaciously separated for discrete privacy.
