This 14-day holiday takes in some of Peru's most famous highlights including Lima and Cuzco. No visit to Peru would be complete without seeing the Inca ruins at Machu Picchu and this tour includes a Vistadome rail journey, taking you through some breathtaking Andes scenery and ending with a guided tour of Machu Picchu. Fly to Easter Island, home of the iconic Moai stone statues, where you'll be taken on an island tour and see the quarry where the Moai where originally carved. You return via Chile's capital Santiago and spend your final two nights in the coastal town of Valparaiso.
UK - Lima
On arrival in Lima, the capital of Peru you will be transferred to the El Pardo Doubletree hotel located in the upmarket area of Miraflores.

Start your Peru adventure with a half day tour of the city incorporating the highlights. Spend time in the colonial centre of the city and visit the Park of Love (Parque Amor) which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. After the short tour we recommend a visit to the Larco Herrera museum to learn about the history of the Incas so you can fully appreciate the background to their ancient civilisation.
Lima - Cuzco - Sacred Valley
Transfer to the airport for the short flight to the Peruvian Highlands and city of Cuzco. On arrival you will be met for a private transfer/tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, followed by a visit to the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo. This site was built just as the Spaniards arrived and evidence of how it was constructed is still visible. After admiring the site's magnificent past, stroll through the quaint streets of today's town. Later, you will have the opportunity to haggle with vendors at the local handicrafts market in Pisac. Overnight at the charming Sol y Luna Lodge & Spa in the heart of this lush valley.

Free day in the Sacred Valley. Relax at the hotel and admire the wonderful Andean scenery or take an excursion which you can arrange directly with the hotel. These range from trekking and horseback riding to pottery classes or cooking lessons!
Machu Picchu onboard the Vistadome train
Today you will board the Vistadome Train that will take you on one of the world's most scenic rail journeys through the Andes to Machu Picchu where you will visit the famous Machu Picchu Inca ruins. Overnight at the lovely El Mapi by Inkaterra in the village of Aguas Calientes.

Machu Picchu - Cuzco
Free morning to return to the citadel of Machu Picchu and explore on your own (entrance fee is not included). There is also the opportunity to climb Wayna Picchu which overlooks the citadel and we can book this in advance at either 7am or 10am. In the afternoon return to the village of Aguas Calientes for the return train journey to either Ollanta or Poroy and continue by road to the city of Cuzco.

Morning group sightseeing in the fascinating colonial city of Cuzco, built on the foundations of the Inca palaces. Visit Koricancha or the Temple of the Sun, where you can view the incredible masonry of the Incas, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral. End this comprehensive tour by visiting the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman overlooking the city, and the nearby sites of Kenko and Tambomachay.
Cuzco - Santiago
Transfer to the airport for the domestic flight to Lima and connect onto Santiago in Chile. Stay overnight at the Holiday Inn located adjacent to the airport terminal.
Santiago - Easter Island
Return to the airport for the flight to Easter Island, a dot in the Pacific Ocean, and one of the remotest places on earth. Stay 3 nights at Taha Tai, a small homely hotel located just outside the main town of Hanga Roa.
Two full days to explore the mysteries of the Moai on Easter Island. We have included one full day and one half day excursions. Visit Ahu Akivi, a platform of seven Moai, Ahu Tongariki and also Rano Raraku, an ancient volcano and quarry where the Moai were carved. There is also the opportunity to visit the white sand beach of Anakena.
Easter Island - Santiago - Valparaiso
Return flight to Santiago on the mainland and transfer to the coastal town of Valparaiso. The next 2 nights you will spend at the Palacio Astoreca, a converted mansion, dating back to 1923. Situated on a hillside, Palacio Astoreca has fantastic views over the bay.

Free day to explore Chile's second city often referred to as 'La Perla del Pacifico' (the Pearl of the Pacific). Colourful buildings adorn the precipitous cliffs and hills linked to the city centre by meandering roads, footpaths, staircases and funicular elevators. The most picturesque area of the town is Cerro Concepcion where a lot of the buildings have been restored.
Valparaiso - Santiago - UK
Transfer to the airport for your return flight. Depending on your departure time you may wish to add a stop at the Matetic Winery for some wine tasting and perhaps lunch!
