Itinerary

Fly from the UK to Rio de Janeiro direct with British Airways. Upon arrival this evening, you will be transferred to your hotel, Windsor Martinique, just off Copacabana Beach.
Today on a private tour you will visit two of Rio de Janeiro's most iconic sights - Corcovado Mountain, home to the statue of Christ the Redeemer, and Sugar Loaf Mountain. Both provide unrivalled views out over the city's spectacular bays, islands, beaches and mountains. To ascend Corcovado Mountain, embark the Swiss cogwheel train that climbs up from 15m asl to 670m asl, winding its way through the Tijuca National Forest below. Offering a bird's eye view, the cable car up to Sugar Loaf makes for an exciting journey. With such stunningly beautiful views, it is no wonder the city is dubbed "cidade maravilhosa" (marvellous city).
Staying at   Windsor Martinique
Today is at leisure. Spend the day as you choose – relax on the beaches or arrange further sightseeing locally. Visit the botanical gardens, the historic area of Santa Teresa with its cobbled streets and try the local 'feijoada' dish!
Staying at   Windsor Martinique
Head south from Rio and travel along the Emerald Coast to the attractive colonial town of Paraty (journey time around 4 hours). Said to have barely changed since the 16th and 17th centuries, the historic town is one of Brazil's most quaint. Cobblestoned streets, white-washed buildings and Portuguese tiles are prevalent here. The next two nights are spent here.
Today is at leisure. A delight to stroll; the town is full of boutiques, galleries and restaurants. Walk to the pier and see the fishermen bring in their catch or take a schooner cruise to an offshore island.
Staying at   Pousada do Ouro
Travel to the beautiful island of Ilha Grande for a three-night stay. Covered in Atlantic rainforest, jungle trails and surrounded by stunning bays; this laid-back, vehicle-free paradise is the ultimate place to kick back and relax. Alternatively, take a boat tour to nearby beaches (don't miss the famous Lopes Mendes beach - voted one of Brazil's most beautiful!) or trek through the lush jungle interior of the island.
Days at leisure on Ilha Grande.
Return to Rio to take your direct overnight flight back to the UK.
