Explore the scenic wonders of Argentina and Uruguay on this spectacular private itinerary. Discover the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires, the grandeur of the stunning Perito Moreno Glacier and the spectacular Iguazu Falls. Continue into Uruguay, crossing the River Plate to the charmingest of towns - Colonia del Sacramento. Meander the streets of its capital city, Montevideo where modern intertwines with the old before ending at the chic beach resort of Jose Ignacio.

Itinerary

Depart the UK for your overnight flight to Buenos Aires.
On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the next 2 nights in the Recoleta neighbourhood. The rest of the day is at leisure.
With your private guide explore the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires. Visit some of the characterful neighbourhoods including the colourful district of La Boca with its quirky caminitos, upmarket Recoleta and trendy Palermo. You also visit the Plaza de Mayo flanked by the presidential palace (the pink palace). In the evening, why not enjoy an evocative evening of tango with dinner? Please enquire for details.
Staying at   Recoleta Grand
Transfer to the airport for the flight south to El Calafate in the heart of Patagonia. Immerse yourself in the endless beauty of the steppe landscape and for meat eaters enjoy excellent Patagonian lamb when in town!
Full day private tour to Perito Moreno glacier to experience first hand this awe inspiring natural wonder. Drive through a long expanse of lenga forest before catching a glimpse of bright white ice. The glacier is 4km long and in continuous process of renewal, look out for great chunks of ice carving, crumbling and crashing into the lake.
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Iguazu via Buenos Aires. From the wilds of Patagonia to the heat of the jungle, Argentina is truly a country of contrasts.
With your private guide cross the border into Brazil to witness the falls from the Brazilian side. Experience the majestic 275 individual falls and get an up close view of the Devil's Throat.
Visit the Argentine side of the falls this morning before flying to Buenos Aires in the afternoon for one night.
Staying at   Recoleta Grand
This morning take the ferry across the River Plate to Colonia del Sacramento, one of Uruguay's most charming towns and a UNESCO world heritage site. This afternoon enjoy a walking tour of the historic centre.
This morning, depart Colonia to Montevideo, Uruguay's capital. Enjoy an afternoon tour to explore the city. Visit Ciudad Vieja (the old city) which is seven blocks wide by thirteen blocks long and an eccentric mix of grand government and banking institution buildings. With its faded colonial grandeur you could easily mistake it for Havana.
Transfer by road to the coastal resort of Jose Ignacio, a tiny settlement ideal for rest and relaxation. Spend the next 3 nights either on the beach, exploring the sandy streets full of art galleries, restaurants and boutiques or head out to explore more of Uruguay's picturesque coastline and interior.
Free days to relax, enjoy a host of local restaurants and explore this windswept corner of Uruguay.
Transfer along the coast to Montevideo airport for your return flight via Madrid.
