In Madikwe Game Reserve stay at Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge where the rangers have unparalleled knowledge of the local wildlife. The reserve is home to over 13,000 animals including the Big-Five, making it the perfect choice for a safari holiday. In Mauritius stay in complete luxury at the Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, one of our favourite beach hotels. Here there is a 300 metre golden beach, and lagoon with clear turquoise waters. Everything from champagne to a glass bottom boat ride is included in the all-inclusive package.
Itinerary
Day 1 UK to Johannesburg
Depart the UK for your overnight flight to Johannesburg
Day 2 Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge
On arrival, make your way to the Federal Air counter and check in for the light aircraft flight to Madikwe. You will be met and transferred by road to Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge for your four night stay with all meals and scheduled safari activities included.
Day 3 Madikwe Safari
Spend the day on safari in the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve. The area is home to over 13,000 animals including Africa's famed big five. Buffalo Ridge Lodge is run by the community and the local rangers have exceptional knowledge of the wildlife. This is an excellent walking and open vehicle safari destination. Game drives, bush walks, birding, tracking, stargazing and bush dining are among the activities on offer. As this was the first 100% community-owned safari camp in South Africa the lodge benefits the community and contributes to the unique atmosphere at Buffalo Ridge.

Day 4 Madikwe Safari
An early start is required for this mornings safari, explore Madikwe Game Reserve by specially adapted 4x4 safari vehicle, your guide and ranger will look out not only for the big five but the smaller animals that you might find difficult to spot yourself. Madikwe Game Reserve boasts a tremendous diversity of flora and fauna, including both black and white rhino, buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog. The day is spent at the lodge enjoying the breathtaking views from the stunning swimming pool or relaxing on your terrace. You will enjoy a further safari experience in the afternoon which will be followed dinner, this could be on the deck under a sky full of stars or in the lodges boma.

Day 5 Madikwe Safari
The Madikwe reserve has a very different ecology to the other reserves in South Africa, because of its location it has a very Desert, moonscape feel to it. This makes it a haven for more unusual animals such as Meerkat and the rare Wild Dog.

Day 6 Madikwe to Mauritius
This morning you will be transferred to OR Tambo Johannesburg International Airport. On arrival check in for your 4 hour flight to Mauritius. On arrival in to Mauritius you will be met and transferred to Heritage Awali in the South of the Island for your 7 night stay in a deluxe room on an all inclusive basis.
Day 7 Mauritius
Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort is set along on 300 metres of golden beach, beside the clear turquoise waters of the lagoon. The all inclusive here truly lives up to it’s name, with champagne and premium brand drinks, room service and a free massage per stay. Also included is a complimentary half-day tour, golf green fees , pastries and pancakes in the afternoon and access to the Bel Ombre Nature Reserve. You will never run out of activities to keep you busy- the resort has everything from pools, to catamaran cruises, to deep-sea fishing.
Day 7 Mauritius
