A safari in the game-rich Masai Mara and a beach break on the tropical island of Mauritius is perhaps the most quintessential Africa safari and Indian Ocean beach combination. Our 12-night itinerary won’t disappoint.

Enjoy a stay at the classic tented Governors' Camp, set beside the Mara River, where you dine al fresco or in the special mess tent. After three thrilling days on safari - with evenings spent chatting around the camp fire - fly to Mauritius via an overnight in Nairobi. Stay at the Belle Mare Plage where you’ll be beside one of the island's best beaches.

Excellent facilities mean you can enjoy a wealth of sporting activities, as well as spa treatments and wonderful food. This trip offers the perfect combination of locations for celebrating either a romantic occasion, or, for simply getting away from the demands of the urban rat race.

Those keen to learn a bit about Mauritius' really interesting natural history - especially keen birders - should arrange an excursion to Black River Gorges National Park - if you'd like us to do so for you, let us know and we'll take care of it with pleasure. There, you have an excellent chance to see some of the planet's rarest birds such as lovely Pink pigeons, Echo parakeets, Mauritius fody (pictured here, male in breeding plumage) and Mauritius olive white-eye.
