Spend four nights in the Okavango delta in Botswana in search of the giant lions that have been made famous for taking down massive buffalo over the years. These lion are known as some of the largest lions in Africa because they have had to adapt to their harsher climate and to hunt bigger game that is resident in this area. There are only 5 tents in camp, making this a very exclusive experience and with your private plunge pool, you will have all of your creature comforts. You will then spend another four nights at the beautiful Tongabezi lodge on the Zambian side of the Victoria falls, Livingstone.
Itinerary
Day 1 Dearture
Depart the UK today on your overnight flight to Johannesburg.
Day 2 Okavango Delta
On arrival early morning, make your onward connecting flight to Maun. On arrival into Maun, you will be met by a representative who will take you to your light aircraft flight to Duba Plains. Once you arrive at the airstrip in the early afternoon, you will be transferred to the lodge by game drive vehicle and check in for the next four nights.
Day 3 Okavango Delta
Duba plains camp has a 1920's classic safari feel to it. It prides itself in the extraordinary wildlife experiences in the area, but also it comforts within the camp. Each tent has an en-suite, its own private veranda. plunge pool and environmentally friendly air-conditioning system. Here you will have the opportunity to go out on morning and afternoon game drives.
Day 4 Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta is rich with wildlife and you may be lucky enough to see the famous lions, but also leopard, elephant, buffalo, lechwe and hundreds of different bird species.
Day 5 Okavango Delta
Duba Plains is also a proud member of pack with a purpose - this initiative allows travellers to take supplies, whether for the local school or craft groups operating within Botswana. Ask one of our specialists for the details.
Today you will go on more game drives or you may opt to go out on a boat based activity.
Day 6 Livingstone
Today you will be transferred to the airstrip for your light aircraft charter to Kasane Airport. From here you will be transferred by road to Livingstone. Spend the next four nights here at Tongabezi lodge with all meals included.
Day 7 Livingstone
Livingstone is vibrant and has activities to offer all travellers. From a quiet fishing trip on the banks of the Zambezi to bungee jumping or white water rafting.
Day 8 Livingstone
A highly recommended activity is to go on a short helicopter flip over the Victoria Falls.
Day 9 Livingstone
Tongabezi are proud to be supporting a local school but they are also going green. Speak to a specialist to find out all Tongabezi is doing to support responsible tourism.
Day 10 Return
This afternoon you will be transferred to Livingstone airport where you will take your flight to Johannesburg and connect to London in the evening.
