African travel is infectious; there really is no other continent like it. Born and bred in South Africa and living there most of my life, I cannot think of a better destination for anyone, whether its unspoiled beaches you’re after, big game safari, exquisite hotels and world-class dining or even a family holiday with activities or romance, a trip through Southern Africa has it all!
For the most remarkable beach experience I can’t rate the Northern Mozambican islands high enough. No crowds, completely off-the-beaten-track and the most exclusive and personable service at a handful of privately owned lodges on private islands, you have to go to the Quirimbas Archipelago. And then for something very special, the Ibo Island traditional dhow safari is a must.
My career in the industry started in front-of-house at a luxury lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve, then it was onto reservations at Bush Breaks, product development for And Beyond, and product management and systems maintenance at Bushtracks Africa in Johannesburg.
In 2014 myself and my hubby picked up sticks and moved to England, we settled in Farnham, Surrey. My last two trips to Africa were to Tanzania in 2017 – Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, Grumeti - and in early 2019 to Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.
