Originally Medellin was a modest, humble town which is evident from it colonial buildings that have fallen into disrepair, and whose origins date back to the coffee boom of the 20th Century. Home to more than three million residents, Medellin is now a modern and vibrant city remaining true to its regional characteristics with its beautiful natural scenery. Surrounded on all four sides by mountainous peaks there are stunning views everywhere you look. Medellin has now become a bustling city of industry and commerce, especially textile manufacturing and a very brisk business in cut flowers. Nicknamed the City of Eternal Spring, Medellin benefits from a temperature climate.
