After breakfast you will be collected from your hotel and transferred by road to the point from where boats (mostly motorised dugouts or 'pirogues'), depart to Lokobe National Park, on south-east Nosy Be. The excursions actually entail exploration of forest just outside of the national park periphery, where there is a well made trail. (Grading: easy). After the boat transfer (about 40 minutes), during which guests can help row if your pirogue is not motorised, you will arrive at the start point of the trail. Your guide will take you into the forest, where viewing of wildlife including iconic Black lemurs (males are jet black, females chestnut), Critically Endangered Nosy Be sportive lemurs and reptiles such as the colourful Panther chameleon, can easily be found. After exploring what is Nosy Be's last remaining stand of Sambirano Forest, you return to the Sakalava village for a seafood lunch. (Do let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements). You will then be transferred back to your hotel by boat and road.
