Guided Spiny Forest bird and botany walk

A very early start today: your guide and driver will collect you from the lodge after a quick coffee. You will be taken by 4-wheel drive from hotel, to the starting point of the circuits. With a local guide, set off into the otherworldly spiny bush. There are two small privately protected parcels of this compellingly 'unique' habitat, to where we take our clients, depending on special interests. Terrain is flat and soil sandy, so grading of the walk is easy. Use trainers to protect your feet from thorns. Your guide will point out various rare, locally endemic birds and tell you about the strange ensemble of bloated and/or drought-resistant plants that create the incredible habitat here. You may also see Petter's sportive lemur and perhaps some Gray-brown mouse lemurs, hiding away either in the incredibly thorny Didieracea (Octopus) trees, or in dense bush. After having explored the spiny bush, you will be driven back to your hotel where you can enjoy a late breakfast and relax by the sunny beach, or explore the reefs.
