Your guide and driver will collect you from Buska Lodge after breakfast. You will meet a local guide from the guiding association, who will accompany you on the visit to one of the Hamar villages a short drive away. Once at the village, you will be taken to see a Hamar household and learn about their customs and everyday lives. Of special interest is the presence of long pieces of twine with many knots, which to the Hamar are calendars. (Each knot represents a week). Afterwards, continue to a viewpoint overlooking the Omo River, where you visit a village of the Karo people. As is the case with all village visits, your guide will brief you concerning protocol surrounding photography, as this does vary according to the tribe visited. It is here, overlooking the Omo River, that you can learn first hand about the challenges the wonderful people of this region are up against. After the village visit, you will be transferred back to Buska Lodge to stay overnight.
