The trip starts out at 8am at the EPA pier at Puerto Natales, in the Last Hope Sound. Passengers board the “Agunsa Tonina” long-boat for a sail to Puerto Bories and Guanaco Island, renowned for sightings of dolphins, toninas (Chilean dolphin) and sea lions lazing on the rocks. The trip continues through the natural wonderland of Estancia Margot to the Cormorant Cliff, where a large number of birds will be stretching their wings and exposing them to the wind. The next stop is at Puerto Toro, for a visit of Balmaceda Glacier and after a hike, visitors will reach Serrano Glacier, both on Mount Balmaceda. Here a snack and a glass of whisky with ice cubes taken from the nearby 1,000-year-old ice packs are enjoyed. Leaving Puerto Toro behind, the boat ride ventures on to the journey’s last destination: the Eberhaard Fjord, where a short hike can be done through Puerto Consuelo ranch, founded in 1893. A delicious Magellan lamb on the spit or barbecue, typical of the region, will be waiting. After this hearty meal, a boat trip heads back to Puerto Natales, arriving around 6pm.
