This cosy mountain eco-lodge is located close to the national park headquarters in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Built using the roundest of boulders and stones from the nearby Mubuku River and hot springs, Equator Snow Lodge has been tastefully designed furnished with bright and fashinable interiors.
The lodge consists of four clean and spacious en-suite stone huts with wooden flooring and wooden furniture. Each hut is run on solar power and sky-windows allow natural light to penetrate through parts of the roof.
Guests will be treated to an en-suite bathroom with a forest view (a large window can open whilst showering), as well as large comfortable beds, a fireplace and a private wooden deck. The main building has an open sided restaurant and bar with a welcoming fireplace and an outside patio area.
This area is particularly popular with experienced mountaineers who attempt to summit Mt Stanley. Trekkers and novice walking enthusiasts can enjoy the delights of the lush Rwenzori foothills, and hand fishing in the local rivers and streams and cultural visits to the nearby Ruboni village can also be arranged.
This is a particulary popular area with keen birders who will be rewarded with numerious bird species and rare Albertine Rift Endemics.
