Lalibela's most upscale property, Mezena Lodge's location affords splendid views across a deep valley towards Lalibela. Its 30 rock and thatch bungalows are very widely spaced, so do note that those furtherest from the main lodge are a fair walk away.
The main building is modern (with some Ethiopian architectural elements in the design),
It has two restaurants, one of which offers international dishes and the other traditional food. There is a spacious bar, gift shop and as can be expected, coffee ceremony room.
Rooms are furnished with king or twin beds and have a large television. Bathrooms have shower and twin basins.
There is a spa with sauna, steam room, massage service, gymnaseum and outside, a big terrace.
The lodge was recently opened (2018) and at present, the swimming pool is incomplete (March 2019). We inspected it in October 2018 and were impressed.
