This lovely rainforest retreat offers accommodation of a high standard in a very beautiful setting, surrounded by dense, tropical rainforest in the Danum Valley. Guests enthuse about it as an 'experience' rather than only accommodation.
The 'standard' jungle chalets are, as their name implies, hidden in the vegetation. They are cosy, very comfortably furnished, airy and have private balconies. The 10 premium deluxe rooms have aircon and large windows affording stunning views of the surrounds. The impressive single and double-storeyed premium villas are luxurious, with spacious private balcony and infinity pool. Solar power is used in part.
Service is widely rated as first class. Sumptuous meals are served at the restaurant, where guests can either dine indoors, or outdoors on the deck with its views over the Danum River. Dishes are either fusion Asian or European in flavour, and often with a 'Bornean twist'.
On arrival, you will be assigned your guide, who is your dedicated guide for the duration of your stay. (Do let us know in advance what area of natural history you are most interested in, so we can arrange for you to be allocated the best guide while you are at the lodge). During your briefing upon arrival, you will be given a refillable waterbottle - this extra touch is one of the measures implemented by the lodge to cut down on single-use plastic.
