Cape Town & Eastern Cape safari - half term

From £1,890 per adult

This seven-night 'in country' family holiday combines the excitement of Cape Town with the thrill of an off-road safari in the malaria-free Eastern Cape. This itinerary works well for Febuary, May and October half-terms as you set off on a Friday evening and arrive back on a Sunday. Cape Town is a fascinating city for adults and children alike and the non-malarial Eastern Cape means that you don't have to worry about taking precautions. Half-terms holidays don't get any more exciting than this!

Itinerary

On this trip you will visit:
  • Cape Town
  • Eastern Cape
  • Private Game Reserves
  • Waterfront to Bantry Bay
Day 1
Depart London Heathrow Friday night, arriving Cape Town the following morning, pick up your hire car and drive into town.
Days 2 - 4
Cape Town
Stay 4-nights in Cape Royale, a stylish, 5-star, self-catering apartment-hotel situated close to the Waterfront, in Green Point. Balconies have great views of Table Mountain, the kitchen is well equipped, and there’s a pool and wellness centre. Eat out, order in from the hotel chef or self-cater as suits.

There is much to see in Cape Town, and your days will be packed: take the cable car up Table Mountain, drive along the scenic Cape Peninsular route and see the penguin colony, visit the famous Waterfront with its many shops and restaurants, take a boat trip to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, enjoy the beach at Camps Bay, or tour the Winelands. It isn’t hard to fill your time here!
Days 5 - 7
Eastern Cape Game Reserve
On day six return your car at Cape Town airport and fly to the Eastern Cape, where you will be transferred to the malaria-free Amakhala Private Game Reserve to stay 3 nights at the family-friendly Shearers Lodge.

At Amakhala you will have two daily safari activities choosing from game drives, bush walks and river cruises. Leeuwenbosch offers an excellent programme for children.
Day 8
After the morning game drive and breakfast you will be transferred to Port Elizabeth to fly to Johannesburg, to catch the evening flight to the UK, landing at London Heathrow early on Sunday morning
