Discover Namibia Lodge-Based Small Group Tour

This small-group tour visits Namibia's top highlights - Etosha, Damaraland, Swakopmund and Sossusvlei - staying in comfortable three-star guest houses and lodges with en suite facilities. Eleven days are spent in country and the tour departs on Wednesdays from Windhoek. It will operate with a minimum of 2 people.

Fly overnight from London Heathrow on a Monday to Windhoek via Johannesburg, spend the day exploring the capital at your own pace and stay one night at a comfy guest house, before an early morning start on Wednesday.

The tour includes:

-    World-class game viewing at Etosha National Park
-    Visit to a Himba village to experience the culture and the tradition of this semi-nomadic tribe
-    Highlights of Damaraland including scenic landscapes and Damara villages, the Petrified Forest, the Twyfelfontein rock engravings, the Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain
-    Lunch at Henties Bay, with an optional harbour cruise at coastal resort of Swakopmund, or simply explore the town and its shops
-    Visit to Walvis Bay and on to the Namib Desert, the Namib Naukluft Park and the Kuiseb Canyon
-    Spectacular dunes at Sossusvlei, probably the highest dunes in the world and quite a climb!

The tour ends on Friday afternoon at Windhoek International Airport, in time for the overnight flight, via Johannesburg, to London Heathrow, arriving early Saturday morning.

Day 1
Monday
Depart from London Heathrow on direct overnight flight to Johannesburg
Day 2
Tuesday
On arrival early morning check in for onward to Windhoek. You will be met and transferred by road to a guest house for a 1-night stay, breakfast included.
Day 3
Wednesday
Today is the start of your guided tour, departing via the Spreetshoogte Pass and Solitaire to your lodge on the border of the Namib Desert for a 2-night stay including breakfast and dinner.
Day 4
Thursday
Early morning departure for a visit of Sossusvlei, with the opportunity to climb some of the highest sand dunes in the world and then onto the Sesriem Canyon. Return to the lodge for lunch to relax in the afternoon. Alternatively there will be an optional guided nature/sunset drive to the Marble Mountains.
Day 5
Friday
After breakfast we depart via the Kuiseb Pass to the Germanic town of Swakopmund for a 2-night stay, breakfast included.
Day 6
Saturday
Full day at leisure to enjoy the many optional tours Swakopmund has to offer from boat cruises to see the seal colony to a variety of adventure activities such as quad biking and dune boarding.
Tonight will be a group dinner
Day 7
Sunday
Travel north to Henties Bay before heading into the desert and continuing to Twyfelfontein, one of the most important archaeological sites in Namibia to see rock paintings and engravings. After a packed lunch visit the Organ Pipes and the Burnt Mountain. Day ends at a lodge in the Damaraland for a 2-night stay, breakfast and dinner included.
Day 8
Monday
This morning will be optional guided hiking trail. Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon head out on sundowner drive to Aba Huab River in search of the elusive desert dwelling elephants (seasonal).
Day 9
Tuesday
Early departure for Kamanjab, to visit a Himba village to hear about the culture and the tradition of this half-nomadic people. Lunch break at Outjo for own account before continuing to Etosha National Park, arriving in the early afternoon. Quick check in and depart on game drive. Return to the lodge before sunset for a 3-night stay, breakfast and dinner included
Day 10
Wednesday
Full day of game drive in the Etosha National Park, exploring the various waterholes along the saltpan. Lunch will be at one of the rest camps in the park – for own account.
Day 11
Thursday
Another full day game drive in the Etosha National Park with lunch for own account.
Day 12
Friday
Today you could continue on a tour heading to Victoria Falls via Caprivi, please get in touch for details. Return to Windhoek with stop a craft market en-route, suggest you spend another night in Windhoek. Check in for return overnight flight to London via Johannesburg.
Day 13
Saturday
Arrive London early morning.
