Day 2
The half-day Panama Canal tour starts with an early morning pick for the short transfer to Flamenco Island situated at the Causeway of Amador on the Pacific coast. You will first sail under the bridge of the Americas, which raises over 100 metres above sea level and reunites the land divided during construction of the canal forming a link in the Pan-American Highway. You will sail part of the canal which is 80 kilometres from coast to coast and was cut from the narrowest strip of land joining the Americas.
Day 3
Fly from Panama City to San Jose in Costa Rica. Overnight at the pretty boutique hotel, Grano de Oro.

Day 4
A scenic flight along Costa Rica's Pacific coast to Palmar Sur and then a boat ride along the Sierpe River and the coast takes you to Casa Corcovado Lodge which is located on the edge of Corcovado National Park on the Osa Peninsula, in the southwest corner of the country. It's a stunningly beautiful place, considered to be one of the most important natural preserves in the Americas. The captivating visual beauty of its forest and of its coastline, with miles of uninhabited beaches and roaring cascades, draws visitors from all over the world.
Note - from 1 Sept to 15 Nov, Casa Corcovado is closed so you would stay at Lapa Rios (excursion programme is different so please ask for more details).

Day 5
Caño Island Biological Reserve lying about 20 kilometres off the Osa peninsula, northeast of Corcovado National Park, is a great base for snorkeling and diving. Discover the marine-life such as manta rays and dolphins with a full day excursion by boat to Cano Island.
Day 6
Hike into the Corcovado National Park with your expert naturalist guide to spot wildlife in pristine primary rainforest.
Day 7
Return from Corcovado to San Jose and transfer by road to Arenal Volcano to stay at the Arenal Nayara hotel.

Day 8
Day at leisure to enjoy the surroundings, spend time relaxing in the hot springs or to do any of the optional tours in the area. Recommended tours: Hike to Arenal National Park, Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge, Arenal Hanging Bridges, Peñas Blancas river safari float, Toro River rafting, Sky Tram, trek, and Walk, among others. (Tours not included in the price).
Day 9
Lake crossing transfer to Monteverde. This service, half tour half transfer is a scenic journey and fastest way to go from Arenal to the Monteverde area. Arenal Lake is the largest and the most important lake in Costa Rica and was man made in 1974 to provide hydroelectric energy for the country. Stay at the El Establo Mountain Lodge.

Day 10
Days at leisure to enjoy the surroundings or to do any of the optional tours in the area. Recommended tours: Monteverde Reserve, Trapiche tour, Night tour, Sky tram, trek, and walk, horseback riding, among others. (Tours not included in the price).
Day 11
Transfer from Monteverde to the stunning Tamarindo region of the Pacific coast and to your hotel for the next four nights, Cala Luna. With its pristine beaches, crystal clear blue waters, superb natural surroundings, and near perfect weather, it is no wonder that Tamarindo is among the most popular beach destinations in Costa Rica.
Days 12 - 15
At leisure to unwind on the Pacific Coast beaches or explore nearby national parks.
Day 16
Transfer to the airport in Liberia for your return flight to the UK.
