UK to Chile
Overnight flight from London via Madrid to Santiago.
Morning arrival to Santiago where you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the Providencia area of the city.
In the afternoon enjoy a guided excursion of the city including a walking tour around the ‘Plaza de Armas’ area where you will find the Cathedral, Ahumada Boulevard and the Government Palace. Travel through the bohemian neighbourhood of Barrio Bellavisita to San Cristobal Hill for a fantastic panoramic vista of the valley and the backdrop of the snow topped Andean mountains.

San Pedro de Atacama
After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight north to Calama, the gateway to the pretty adobe town of San Pedro de Atacama. Travelling through the barren desert you will pass through the Domekyo & Salt Mountain ranges.
Afternoon excursion to Valle de la Muerte (Death Valley) located in the Salt Mountain range. Here you find many strange, rocky formations. Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley), 15km west of San Pedro de Atacama is part of Reserva Nacional los Flamencos. Admire the spectacular sunset over this colourful valley from above. Although an uphill hike you will be rewarded with an amazing vista.

San Pedro de Atacama
Visit Atacama Salt flat, the largest in Chile, where you will find Laguna Chaxa an environment ideal for flamingos to live and breed. Continue higher into the Altiplano visiting the picturesque village of Toconao with it’s Bell Tower designed in the classical Atacamenian way and the village of Socaire. Highlight of the trip is the spectacular altiplanic lagoons of Meñique and Miscanti located at 4.500 meters above sea level where the deep blue water shimmers against the desert mountain backdrop.
San Pedro de Atacama - Tatio Geysers
Early morning tour visiting El Tatio geysers. Depart at around 4am to climb to the altitude of 4300m above sea level to visit the world's highest geyser field to capture this magnificent sight of natural steam columns just as the sun is rising over the Andes. The tour includes a boxed breakfast before taking a short walk around the field. Return to San Pedro around lunch time with spectacular views of the Torcopuri and Sairecabur volcanoes.

quirky desert town.
San Pedro de Atacama - Puerto Varas, Lake District
After breakfast transfer to Calama Airport for onward flight to Puerto Montt travelling via Santiago. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Cabanas del Lago for three nights accommodation overlooking Lake Llanquihue. Rest of day at leisure.

Lake District - Lake Llanquihue & Osorno Volcano
Full day tour incorporating the towns of Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt. Drive through the attractive streets and avenues of Puerto Varas via the Philippi Hill with its wonderful views of Lake Llanquihue and the majestic Osorno Volcano. The vibrant fishing village of Angelmó, with its wonderful selection of arts and crafts, is situated close to Puerto Montt. Afternoon drive via the majestic Osorno Volcano to Frutillar, a small town with a strong German heritage. Continue to the small port of Petrohue on the shores of All Saint’s Lake before returning to your hotel.
Lake District - Chiloe Island
From the town of Pargua, board the ferry for the 45 minute journey across the Charco Channel to Charco. Here you will see the first signs of the classic island architecture called ‘chilota’ – buildings with typical wooden roofs.
Visit the village of Quemchi and the area of Aucar for the 560 metre long pedestrian wooden bridge which connects the area with a picturesque cemetery located on a small island. Colo village is home to the most traditional church on the island and was constructed from the XVI century. In fact all the churches on the island have been declared ‘World Heritage’ The tour concludes in the main city of Castro where you find
‘palafitos’ – typical houses constructed on plots over the sea with wooden stilts.
Puerto Montt - Punta Arenas
Transfer from your hotel in Puerto Varas to the airport at Puerto Montt for the short flight south to Punta Arenas. On arrival you will be taken to the coach station for the scheduled departure to Puerto Natales where you spend the next three nights at the Weskar overlooking Seno Ultima Esperanza (Last Hope Sound). This small town is the gateway to the spectacular Torres del Paine National Park and was once dependent on wool, mutton and fishing. Breakfast and lunch included.
Puerto Natales - Balmaceda Glacier
Early in the morning sail from Puerto Natales visiting the beautiful Ultima Esperanza Fjord and after a 3-hour navigation arrive at the 1,000 year old glacier of Mount Balmaceda and habitat of cormorants and sea lion. At the end of the fjord disembark and walk approx. one km. along a path through the middle of a wonderful native forest to the foot of the amazing Serrano Glacier.
Return to Puerto Natales with a stop at the Estancia Perales for lunch before returning to your hotel. Breakfast and lunch included.
Torres del Paine National Park
Full day excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Torres del Paine National Park. From Puerto Natales you will drive through the Patagonia steppe and scrub where you find an abundance of wildlife including sheep, large herds of guanacos and a variety of native fauna. Within the park visit the Salto Grande waterfall with a backdrop of the impressive mountain massif of Torres del Paine. Also included is a visit to Lake Pehoe and Lake Grey for the spectacular Grey Glacier in the distance.
Punta Arenas - Santiago
Transfer from Puerto Natales to Punta Arenas by scheduled coach for your flight to Santiago. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for your final night in the Chilean capital of Santiago.
