The summer months in Botswana enjoy a spectacular congregation of wildlife in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. This guided journey which only runs in the green season takes in the desert and the fertile islands, waterways of the Okavango Delta, the game rich Linyanti which borders the Chobe National Park and ends at the Victoria Falls, lead by a passionate guide for the duration, bringing this environment to life and providing a fascinating understanding of the animal behaviours and patterns.
This particular trip only operates in the ‘Green’ season from December to March when the desert is transformed into a green wonderland, attracting desert wildlife and predators. The comfortable camp is interspersed with permanent camps in the Okavango Delta and ending at the Victoria Falls.
Depart from London on direct overnight flight to Johannesburg
Central Kalahari Game Reserve
On arrival early morning, make onward scheduled flight connection to Maun in Botswana.
Transfer by light aircraft to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve for a 3 night stay at Deception Valley Adventurer Camp set in a prehistoric riverbed surrounded by petrified dune lands, with all meals, local drinks and scheduled safari activities included.
Your accommodation will in 3 x 3 metre dome tents with mini verandah on GI stretcher beds with cotton linen and open air en suite with loo and tin bucket shower. The camp is lit by hurricane in the evening and guided activities are in open safari vehicles, exploring the green desert of the Kalahari which attracts vast herds of desert wildlife with their young, closely followed by predators.
Return to Maun by road which takes approximately six hours for light aircraft flight into the Okavango Delta for a 2 night stay at Xigera Camp which is a classic camp which overlooks the seasonal floodplain and small lagoon, with all meals, local drinks and scheduled safari activities included.
Xigera Camps has all the comforts of a permanent camp including swimming pool but is 100% solar powered. Exploration of the Okavango Delta is by mokoro, motorboat and seasonal game drives, depending on water levels. Keen birders will be delighted to see some firm favourites such as Pel’s Fishing-Owl, African Skimmer, Greater Swamp Warbler and Wattled Crane. The water-loving red lechwe, spotted-necked otter, elephant, tsessebe, Sitatunga, leopard and spotted hyena are some of the mammals which can be found.

Light aircraft flight to the private Linyanti Concession for a 3 night stay the comfortable Linyanti Discoverer Camp with all meals, local drinks and scheduled safari activities included.
The Linyanti Discoverer tents are 6.3 x 3.5 metre walk-in wooden framed canvas sided airy tents with the comforts of director chairs, bedside tables with 12-volt reading lamps, canvas and wood wardrobes, comfortable beds and en suite separate loo and showers. Evening meals are prepared around the camp fire and activities are safari drives into this game rich area which has floodplains, open dry-land savannah and woodlands to enjoy.
Victoria Falls, Zambia
Transfer by light aircraft flight to Kasane in the very north, here you will be met and transferred by road to the Chobe River for a boat cruise with light lunch enjoying the gathering of the large herds of elephants this area is famed for.
A road and boat transfer takes you across into Zambia for your final night on the banks of the Zambezi River at Toka Leya Camp with all meals and local drinks included.

Early morning transfer to the Victoria Falls for a guided tour. Transfer by road to Livingstone Airport for afternoon flight to Johannesburg which will connect to your return overnight early evening flight to London.
