Belize Mayan Discovery & Beach

Belize

This comprehensive tour delves deep into the heart of Belize's historic and natural wonders combining mysterious Mayan sites shrouded by dense jungles, river trips, wildlife spotting and swimming or snorkelling the coral reefs in the blue Caribbean waters off the coast of this small but fascinating country.

The tour starts in the Cayo District where you can explore Mayan sites and cave systems. Continue to the remote Orange Walk area to discover the amazing site of Lamanai surrounded by thick forest and go on boat trips to spot many species of mammals and birds. Continue south to the cacao plantations of the Toledo district close to Punta Gorda, an intriguing mixture of Mayan, Garifuna and Mennonite communities and also home to the infamous site of Lubaantun, where the Crystal Skull was allegedly discovered. Finish at a beautiful beach retreat close to Placencia from where you can hope to spot a jaguar at Cockscomb Reserve or snorkel the reefs off the coast.
